My Students
My students are bright, intelligent individuals who have great potential. They have drive and they absolutely want to be successful. My school is 68% Hispanic, 15% Caucasian, 9% Black/African American, 7% Native American, and 1% Asian. Over 95% of the students at my school receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students come to my classroom ready to learn and ready to be challenged. They accept that I have set high standards for excellence and they continually and consistently rise to meet and exceed my expectations.
My Project
Each year, my piano program grows by leaps and bounds. As the students progress, our need for varied and diverse music increases. These new music resources will offer each of my piano students the opportunity to explore classical and pop favorites for four hands on one piano.
Ensemble music encourages team work!
The students must communicate and work together to be successful. Offering music the students are familiar with guarantees success. Music from the Famous & Fun Duet collection is fun and encourages students to work together.
Students need to feel that what they are learning is relevant to their personal lives. If they can relate to the music, they will be more willing to work harder to be successful.
In order to preserve our classroom copies, students need to be able to print his or her music. These copies can be discarded after the student marks his pages in the beginning stages of mastering the chosen repertoire.
