My Students
My students live in a small supportive community, however, their families are far from being affluent with over 50% qualifying for free and reduced lunch. Some are coming to school ready to fully engage, others have many real-life obstacles to overcome before they can be ready to focus on learning. My students deserve interesting, engaging, and challenging projects to empower them to take charge of their learning.
Student groups will use the design process to electronically record their building and coding challenges and successes.
My Project
This additional LEGO Mindstorm EV3 set will more effectively help us to launch our new STEAM robotics curriculum this fall for 320 Middle School students. Part 4 of my Donors Choose project will add one more needed station in my class for students to work on the design process and their 4 C’s + 1 real world skills. This newly expanded curriculum will help to prepare our students for a world in which their careers may not yet exist. The end of last school year, they were able to take turns exploring the EV3 kits. My students are excited to engage in these new challenging opportunities.
