Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
While my students lack many opportunities, they deserve high quality education enhanced by technology.
My students are eager to learn and they love school.
They are particularly passionate about reading, writing, and science.
The college classes of 2025 and 2026 are current 3rd and 4th grade students in an urban public school in California. The school and surrounding community lack many resources most students and teachers take for granted, which is why I am requesting speakers and digital cameras to use in the classroom.
My Project
The speakers will allow students to hear everything from Power Point sound effects in Math Jeopardy to the lyrics to the Bill Nye science songs we are rehearsing in science. We currently need to crowd around my computer and can barely hear!
The cameras will be incredibly helpful for numerous classroom projects, such as documenting classroom presentations, participating in a photography unit, and capturing exciting photos and videos on field trips.
While my students lack many opportunities, they still deserve to use technology to enhance their learning.
To prepare them for college and beyond, I want them to feel as comfortable using technology as their private school peers! Thanks so much for your support!
