Help me give my students books that I can send to them to read and keep at home during the quarantine. When our school closed, so did their access to our classroom, school, and public libraries.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I can't say enough wonderful things about my students. They are hard-working, creative, kind, and considerate. My class loves reading, writing, math, social studies, STEM and learning about the world around them! I learn from them on a daily basis. While necessary for safety, it was very hard to learn that our school will be closed for the remainder of the year. We shut down in March with no notice.
Our classroom community is now a digital one.
We've moved all our learning online. One of the most difficult parts of distance learning is providing students with resources they need to learn and remain engaged. I'm hoping to provide my class with some materials to enhance their at-home learning experience. Thank you for your consideration!
My Project
Our school district closed in March with no notice. This means that we were not able to send home enough books for students to have during the quarantine. Reading is a crucial part of our day. During a typical school day students are able to read many books from our classroom and school library. Students are able to take new books home daily. This routine stopped abruptly in March.
I want to mail my students books that I know they will enjoy reading.
I was planning on ending our school year by providing students with a Bookstore Shopping Day where they would get to select books to take and keep at home. Since we won't be able to do that in person this year, I want to make it possible in a way that is safe for everyone. This project includes some of the books I would send home to my students. I know they will be so excited to get a box of books selected just for them! Thank you for your consideration!
