Help me give my students the Exploring Econony Hands-On Activity Center set, money activity cards, and magnetic coins to help them to build financial literacy and understand money.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
God-loving, humble, and eager to learn is a few of the ways I can describe my students. I never imagined that I would be blessed with the opportunity to work at a school with such amazing students, parents, peers, teachers, and administrators. Each day, I am greeted with smiles and warm hugs. My students live and attend school in a high-poverty, rural area, but the lack of finances does not hinder their eagerness to learn new and exciting things.
I try to make sure they are reassured each and every day, that they are special, loved, and important to those responsible for providing them with a great education.
My Project
My students need help understading money. They know that they can go shopping in stores to spend it, or they can order things online, but they don't always understand that there isn't a "money tree" that parents use to buy them what they need.
It is important for students to learn the importance of financial literacy as young as possible, to help them to increase their awareness of spending habits.
This project will allow students to learn about saving and spending, producers and consumers, and supply chains in a fun and engaging way. They will also have money counting skills reinforced with the use of the magnetic coins.
