Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are all very unique and eager to learn. They are very energetic as 3rd graders should be. They are a loving bunch, and when given the choice hugs, handshakes or high fives, they all come in for a tight hug. They are full of "I love you teacher"'s. My students have faced many challenges and I want to give them the opportunity to engage in creativity through music. Though we don't have the resources, my students are so deserving of this opportunity. My students are very creative. They use their pencils and hands to create rhythms, and they love to dance!

My Project

The items in this 3rd Grade Rocks project will allow my students to come together and create music. The music book will help them to learn about music notes and how to play them on the recorder. The drums and music set will allow the students to learn music that has already been organized, but more importantly give them the freedom to create their own music to express themselves. My children have so much energy, and what better way to get in out then using it to create. Music will be incorporated throughout the day, beginning with morning meeting and ending with closing circle.
