My students come from challenging backgrounds of being second language learners who are ambassadors for their parents who come from the Philippines and are not quite assimilated with the American culture.
The students in my class pridefully take on the ownership for this new learning even with the hardships they bare coming into not only a new country but a new school as well.
This positive and growth mindset helps equip my students for their success in the classroom.
My school focuses on preparing students with the necessary skills and abilities in an effort to make them College and Career Ready. A focus that is fully supported and valued by the families of this community.
I am excited to be joining these students on their journey as a first year teacher!
My Project
My students need a classroom set of clipboards to hang around our room to showcase their brilliant work they are about to do in 3rd grade. The clipboards can also be utilized for mobile learning to support students who might not work best a desk.
A mailbox is an essential classroom need to help students organizer their paperwork for homework, turning in, and grading purposes.
These executive skills are important to possess for college and career readiness.
Legos will help the students to begin exploring various math concepts such as multiplication tables, fractions, and arrays. These multi-purposeful learning tools can also be used to build understanding of molecular compounds and simple machines. In the future, with enough Legos my students will be able to visually represent their writing through Lego comic books.
My students and their classroom needs a durable and long-lasting pencil sharpener. This sharpener will be used daily to help keep students' tools and minds sharp.
