I am a third-grade classroom teacher from a Title I school with over 50% of the students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. My students are kind hearted and passionate learners who are very active! They enjoy moving around the classroom and appreciate positive attention and choices. I love engaging my students with project based learning activities and infusing technology into our school day.
Many of my students face challenges beyond their control.
I am looking for simple ways to help them become inspired and grow as learners. I want them to come to school and see a place that is safe, comfortable, and flexible enough to meet their needs.
My Project
This year I have a great group of 3rd grade students. One of the things we have been working really hard on is our writing skills. Many students didn't get as much direct writing instruction last year due to the many learning modes we were in during COVID.
This project will help me to make my writing instruction exciting and motivating to my students by providing each of them with a blank hardback book to help them publish their writing.
These books will be used during our poetry writing until. Students will be learning about many different types of poetry and will try to write different types of poems on their own. Felt tip pens are included in this project to help students write their final copy poems neatly in their hard back books. I have also included white out to help with any small mistakes that may occur. At the end of the year school year, I hope to host an event where parents can come and listen to their children share their poetry and writing from the school year.
Please consider donating to our project to make writing more fun for my 3rd grade students!
