Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a public school serving 65% English Language Learners and over 50% of the school population is classified as low income students. Our class loves to read and can't get enough of high interest books in our classroom library.
Our class is full of problem-solvers, creative thinkers, and persevering learners.
We love challenges, hands-on exploration, and curious topics to study. We have 20 students that come in each day with a grateful heart and an open mind to learn.
Our class has a variety of interests in reading. From animals, to leaders in science, to our solar system, there is a huge range of interests that each student is wanting more to learn about.
My Project
These books will continue to encourage new and experienced readers. In providing books worth reading, I hope to help support my students' curiosities, wonderings, and understanding of the world around them. I chose these specific books because they were recommended by librarians, teachers, and students that I have worked with.
My goal is to spread the love of reading in my class.
Many students are lost when it comes to finding great books to read. This project exposes them to a wide variety of award-winning and reader-loved books. I want my students to leave 3rd grade with a rich reading experience that this project can provide.
