My Students

I teach Middle School Engineering at a high-need, Title I school. My school is located in a high-poverty community, which affects the resources and funding my students have for class. I want to give my students access to the cutting edge, inquiry learning materials they need to achieve in a STEM world.

My students are growing up in a technology-based society without the resources and exposure due to their economic/social status.

My goal is to help mold them into twenty-first century thinkers that are ready for a technologically based world through STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and critical thinking activities. My students are hungry for challenging concepts and curriculum that will expose them to learning that can better their life as adults. The exposure to engineering concepts in middle school can change my students' future for the better! My students deserve to have the same influential opportunities as students in more a stable economic home environment. The 3D Printer that is needed will give them inquiry-based learning that is engaging due to it's hands-on approach, real world connections and engineering principals. My students are passionate about learning how the world around them works through creativity, hands-on learning and discovery!

My Project

In my class, my students are very excited and engaged in their learning and want to become twenty-first century learners. I want to give them the necessary skills to be successful in school and in this tough, critical thinking based world. The 3D Printer will give my students the opportunity to become creators of technology instead of just being users. You will give them access to cutting-edge technology that will help inspire creativity and learning. I hope to change my students' future by exposing them to engineering at an earlier age. My students need the hands-on engineering activities that the 3D Printer has to offer as well as to develop the skills my students need to be successful in our ever changing world. The 3D Printer creates 100% hands-on and experiential based learning. The 3D Printer will give them the academic edge to be successful in school and in the real world. My students want to pursue STEM careers when they become adults. Can you please help their dreams come true?

The 3D Printer offers amazing learning activities and lessons that will not just affect students this school year but for many future years.

Your help will ensure my students will have the opportunity to be competitive in this twenty-first century world by allowing them to gain STEM-based and other critical thinking skills. You will directly impact the learning of hundreds and hundreds of students. You will give my students twenty-first century skills. Your help can inspire a future engineer!
