Help me give my students in Elementary STEAM class a working 3D printer!
This project expired on March 1, 2020.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our elementary STEAM students in grades K-5 love visiting our STEAM class every week for 60 minutes. It is the perfect space for hands-on learning that integrates science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
We start our class reconnecting with one another, learning about the day's challenge/activity and expectations, and participating in a conversation that aims to inspire teams.
Once students have learned about the day's challenge, they form teams and start brainstorming solutions. Using materials available in our room they work through the Engineering Design Process to work out their solution.
We're in need of another 3D printer. We do have two, but with over 400 students, it's important for project turnaround time to print student projects as soon as possible.
This printer comes highly recommended by other STEM/STEAM teachers, and will replace two donated 3D printers that resulted in 95% failed prints!
Our students in grades 5K-5th grade work collaboratively and independently to create design solutions in STEAM. Printing their creations brings their solutions to life. They love testing their 3D print designs. The printers also are used to print tools and parts that help us in other design challenges - including hinges, brackets, and screws.
