My students are some of the most impressive young people I have ever had the pleasure of teaching. These students choose to tackle tasks others said they wouldn't be able to complete. Not only do our students meet their goals, these kids flourish.
Our school, like nearly every school in the district, qualifies for Title I funding.
The opportunities for these students to learn STEAM concepts are often limited, outdated, or focused on device utilization. Rarely are they given the opportunity to learn the 'WHY?' and 'HOW?' behind STEAM concepts.
While I provide my students with access to technology tools and opportunities to experience STEAM, it is the students who lead the way. They choose the project, they set their goals, and they demonstrate their eagerness to learn for everyone to see. I want to encourage this by providing more opportunity for growth and experience.
My Project
My students need the 3D filament in order to complete projects within the school. The filament will be used to support STEM-based projects across all subject areas. All materials will be shared with multiple grade levels. The student projects will vary in scope, but all projects will provide deep learning experiences for all students involved.
Every student needs support and opportunities to learn 21st Century skills.
