My students need a 3Doodler set to integrate arts and creativity into science explorations. My students also need 3 part plastic drawers to organize these tools for easy access and independence.
My second grade classroom is full of eager learners. We explore multiple subject areas through hands on and engaging lessons. At my school, students have a rich curriculum involving innovative explorations.
For example, my second grade students share their knowledge of states of matter through exploratory learning stations and a culturally diverse cookbook.
They share their knowledge of math and social studies through a business day showcase. We integrate science, language, and art in a plant pollination and seed dispersal unit, and other creative projects. As a military impacted school, we often invite the community into our classroom to share and showcase our learning. My students are active, eager, and are integrating technology and art into their everyday learning.
My Project
My students will benefit by having a classroom set of 3D Pens with materials that encourage them to DESIGN and CREATE while working together to solve problems and incorporating science, technology, engineering, math literacy, art, and music. Not only will these materials help reinforce standards taught in the classroom, but will help students build a lifelong passion for learning.
3D pens will spark creativity and excitement that allow students to hone their science, math, engineering, spatial awareness, and tactile skills in a fun and engaging way.
A 3D pen extrudes moldable plastic that hardens instantly allowing students to draw in the AIR! This safe tool allows students to take their ideas straight to pen and create in 3D! This will be a versatile addition to our classroom centers and supplement our Problem Based Learning lessons on Coastal Beach Erosion.
Hawaii is known for its beautiful beaches, but sadly they are rapidly eroding. In Quarter 4 students will be studying the effects of coastal beach erosion. Students will invent a solution to help save our beaches. Students will use sand, water and other art and recyclable items to create a 3D solution model focusing on coastal beach erosion. With a 3D pen, students will be limitless to the solutions they could imagine and create applicable real world solutions!
A 3Doodler Starter Set will be a great addition to our classroom and will help unfold our lessons on Coastal Beach Erosion.
