Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 23 students that are all special in their own unique way. They are a vivacious bunch with ample energy and enthusiasm. They are eager to learn and try their best to overcome challenges. They are future scientists and engineers that are curious about everything around them.

We are a low income school in the heart of the inner city in Southern California.

95% students in our classroom receive free breakfast and lunch. Most of the students are from low income families. Roughly half of the students in our classroom are from single family homes.

My Project

3D printing will open doors for many of my students. They will utilize these machines to create projects to solve real world problems.

They will design and print 3D objects to provide solutions to real world problems.

Moreover, they will create projects that they think people will be interested in buying. These items will be on sale to the community.

We will also integrate 3D printing into the curriculum. 3D printing will be integrated into English Language Arts, math, the sciences, etc.

3D printing is the way of the future! Students may print anything that they can design. Prosthetic limbs and full-sized homes have been created using 3D printers. This is just the beginning of 3D printing. Imagine years down the line when these students have graduated college and become engineers.
