3D Printing for Advanced Learning!

Help me give my students a 3D Printer! Students in third grade love technology and science and as we dig into scientific topics throughout the year, students would get to create models of the topics they are learning about!

My Students

Students at our school are described as the "hardest working students" as they have a great amount of perseverance despite facing challenges in their lives. Many of my students come from low-income families and trauma situations that make learning and social interactions difficult.

In light of the challenges that they face, they do not allow that to stop them from coming to school ready to learn and explore new knowledge!

Helping these amazing little people develop into inquisitive learners is an amazing experience every single day!

My Project

Students in third grade love exploring new topics using technology. 3D printing is a way to combine technology and learning together to enrich their learning process! One example of how a 3D printer will enrich the students' learning is during our frog unit where students read about different kinds of frogs. Their performance task has them draw the frog that they became experts on. Using a 3D printer would allow students to create a frog model instead!

Third grade covers many topics and bringing those topics to life using a 3D printer would bring new life to learning!

They could also use this amazing tool to create tons of models during instruction in science, reading, math, and social studies.
