Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a community of inquirers who are eager to ask important questions and to come up with creative solutions to problems. We are an IB school dedicated to innovation and environmental stewardship. Located in the southwest side of Chicago, we serve our community both inside our walls and outside our walls as well. We are mindful humans who love learning.
By teaching them science, they learn about their place in the world and how they can influence the planet around them.
I want them to be prepared to enter the world with 21st century skills so that they both have interest in and are prepared for STEAM careers and futures. My amazing students are fun-loving and enjoy learning, sometimes with a little bit of help and excitement from me.
Through inquiry-based learning, students are engaged in hands-on learning and research to become collaborators, critical thinkers, communicators, and full of creativity.
My Project
Students in Science and Design classes must keep up with current trends in STEAM learning so that they are prepared for careers in STEAM fields.
With these 3D Printers, students will participate in interdisciplinary projects that help them learn more about the world around them through prototyping designs, learning about how technology evolves, and how technology can help to improve our futures.
These 3D printers and Pens will help them to develop skills that go across the STEAM fields while developing creativity along the way.
My students have been asking for 3D printers for a while now because they want to learn more about them and how they work. Did you know that 3D printers are a NASA spinoff? My students that through an inquiry investigation, something that they will continue to participate in with even more excitement with 3D printing.
