Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a wonderfully diverse environment, most of them high-achieving and very hard workers. They love to excel and push themselves and they're so very inspiring to watch as they create and explore. Some students belong to the wonderful forensic science and performing arts magnet program, and others to the global studies magnet program. Because the school houses several magnet programs, many of our students are bussed in from different areas within our metropolitan area, some from lower socioeconomic regions.
My students are always thinking, always moving.
Over 270 students enter my room on a weekly basis with purposeful intention and a desire to learn. Because of our highly motivated student population, they have consistently scored high on district and state assessments, keeping a prideful tradition of high achievement.
My Project
Implementing a STEAM initiative would be the main priority, using other complementing software, our students can bring their artistic creations to life. Students can also use other established 3D modeling programs in order to master their use in conjunction with the 3D printer.
This 3D printer would be used to create 3D models of various artistic designs in order to understand how creativity is necessary in science, math, engineering and robotics.
This would promote innovative thinking in order to create new products. Mastery of this new technology would help our students better understand how it works and how it can be applied to other STEAM careers in the future.
Getting started with this emerging technology will give our students valuable skills they can transfer into real world applications.
