This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hello! I am an advisor (which means teacher) at a really amazing school. At our school, each student is encouraged and given large portions of their school day to work on cultivating and nurturing their own interests and passions.

As their advisors, we learn what they are interested in, and gather supplies and materials that each student can use to explore their interests.

For example, two students are excited about doing nail art. One of my friends is a professional nail artist, who designed nails for New York Fashion week. She sent a box of nail art supplies and is going to meet with my students to talk about the industry. This is what we strive for each student.

My Project

Because my students have a variety of interests, having access to a 3D Printer will provide each student the opportunity to create something they can use to further their exploration in their interests in passions. For example, one student was creating a math board game and would have benefitted from having access to a 3D printer to create the game pieces. The sky is the limit with a 3D printer! One person could manufacture prosthetics, another could be creating car pieces. It is truly useful for everyone! Access to technology is important!
