Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are extremely smart and hard working! This year working with students from different grade levels. They come from homes where both parents work to make ends meet. Most of my students stay after school in the after school program to get a hot meal because their parents are not able to pick them up any earlier than 6pm on a daily basis. Even though they are from a low socio-economic background, they know and value the importance of an education. We discuss college and career goals daily!
My Project
These materials will allow my students the opportunity to 3D print objects for use on classroom projects. They will be able to make objects and items that can be used in the classroom, as well as things that will help them with STEAM projects and classroom based learning as well.
Access to a 3D printer will further their ability to create and build.
This will provide them with more options and opportunity to explore and create, while interacting with technology in a way that will provide them with skills that can be translated into real-world work opportunities as they age.
