My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous.
As a speech-language pathologist in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, my students walk into school ready to learn.
They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households, by their grandparents and/or receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. From the minute they walk into school, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
Using 3D objects within our speech therapy sessions will engage my students to learn quicker. I can use the Teaching Tubs to work on vocabulary, categories, speech sounds, answering questions, phonemic awareness and labeling. My students deserve to have fun items to learn from.
My students learn differently and I strive to help them in unique ways.
Having 3D objects from the Teaching Tubs will make learning more memorizing and enjoyable! I can use the 3D objects in many different ways. They are not consumable so we can use them for a lifetime. Please help support my terrific students at our school in Ohio.
