My Students

My students are very young and need a lot of diverse hands-on art supplies to keep them engaged. With the current pandemic situation, we are not sharing supplies and the students are not allowed to move around freely like before. These students live in a rural geographic location and most have not been exposed to many other cultures.

They love new art projects and are excited to learn something new every week.

My Project

These materials will help the students learn how pottery is made and create unique designs using the subtractive method. Students will learn how to form 3D sculptures using the additive method. This project will reinforce the concepts of distinguishing between 2D and 3D. The students knowledge of the Elements of Art will be strengthened by exploring each one they use in their design making process. The students will be introduced to sculptors and pottery makers from different cultures before being introduced to this new medium and the techniques used with it.
