My Students
My middle school students attend computer lab three times a week during their Specials time. Our school is located in a rural, high poverty community.
My students enjoy hands-on STEM projects.
This year, they are building EV3 Robotics projects that give them the chance to see how coding relates to real life robots.
They enjoy completing hands-on projects creating 3D objects with Tinker Cad and having them made on the Dremel 3D printer. We need some more Dremel filament to see our projects go from the screen to a real object.
My Project
The availability of filament for the Dremel 3D printer that my middle school students use will enable them to see their projects progress from an idea on the screen to an actual object.
My middle school students enjoy creating various 3D design projects, from a personalized name tag, to a tea light candle holder, great for when the lights go out, to an exercise where they improve upon an object.
Some students have made a guitar pick holder, boxes to hold items and tags for their dog's collar in case their pet gets loose! Many of these students choose to continue their 3D design experience by participating in the 3D Enrichment class.
