My students need the mix of fiction and the universe to meet their curriculum goals. The students will be building their fluency, knowledge, vocabulary, asking and answering questions skills, and love for learning!

My Students

My school has a high population of Military-dependent students. Because of living in a high military populated area, we have very diverse students in my classroom. I have 22 students in my room and they all come from different areas, and enter my classroom with their own, unique contributions to class discussions. For example, I have a student from Africa, a student from Germany, and a student from Hawaii. As a whole, my students are high achievers and love to learn!

My Project

My students love using literacy as a way to gain knowledge. Not only will they be learning about the Universe, but they will be building skills in reading comprehension, fluency, identifying characters and their traits, text features, and vocabulary. In addition, my students do not get the opportunity to truly enjoy science. Using these books will allow integration between science and reading possible! This class set of George's Secret Key to the Universe will benefit my students this year and the years to come! There are many fun and engaging activities to be done with this novel. My students and I thank you for contributing to our classroom!!
