This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hi there! I teach English and Theater to students in a large public high school in Philadelphia, and am working on a truly memorable project for my students.

Most of my students are from Latino households, and are living at poverty-level.

Nevertheless, my students are incredibly talented, creative, and incredibly interested in lessons that integrate technology with learning. I am currently producing a massive multimedia-driven project that is in desperate need of technology resources.

My Project

I am requesting a Flip Video camera because my students are familiar with using this type of camera, and it is an amazing little device for capturing hi-res video and effortlessly uploading the footage to a computer for editing. Our project involves the creation of 32 short films about our high school, told from different student perspectives, and exploring different forms, from visual poetry, to symbolic montage, to comedy, to drama. Each film will explore the mysterious and enigmatic qualities of this unique learning environment.

Your donation will enable students to independently produce their projects, which will be joined together into a feature-length work of art that my students can take with them end share with their families.

My students will be thrilled to know that someone whom they have never met cares about making their educational experience better. Thank you!
