My students need IPads and cases in order to expand their experience with technology, enhance music fundamentals, and develop music compositional skills as well.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a K-8 building that is full of culture and diversity. Located just outside of the city of Phoenix, my school is in a city called Glendale, AZ. Students here are from low income families, and 100% of the student body are currently recieving free breakfast. Being a Title I school, my students face serious struggles both culturally, and in the field of education daily.
When one person believes in you, you have every reason to believe in yourself.
Every time I see my students, I hear about the hardships students face in not only their home life, but their life here at school too. Students often feel like they are left alone to be responsible for themselves, and that no one else is willing to invest their time or efforts in changing their life.
By starting an after school music club, I have found a way to connect with students, and assure them that I care about their educational growth and wellbeing just as much as it matters to them.
My Project
In order to better the lives of my students, my lessons emphasize the importance of developing time management, peer support, and community involvement. Music itself is a great tool to establish and perfect these skills, and using musical instruments to develop them is even more efficient.
Rather than requesting funding for one specific type of instrument, I will use iPads to teach fundamental technique for guitars, pianos, ukuleles, and musical composition.
Everyday, my classroom faces the same struggle though; 43 students, and only 15 instruments. By adding just one resource, students will have limitless potential for growth in music. Thank you!
