My Students

Have you ever played a hidden picture game in a magazine or online? They can be quite challenging and sometimes downright frustrating. That is what it is like for the students in this class to choose a book. Currently the shelves and bins our classroom are not user-friendly.

This is a Developmental Support class which contains students with varying exceptionalities.

Our class is a little family who cares for one another and accept all of our differences. Every student is always ready to lend a helping hand. Currently, we have nine students in our room with ages ranging from five to nine years old. Our class is composed of a broad range of abilities. Sometimes it is hard for some of us to see and reach the books in our classroom library. The bins can be too heavy for some of us and other times we just can't see them all. Will you please help us reach our favorite titles where they are easy to see?

My Project

The 3-in-1 Mobile Book Library will change the students' lives for the better by giving them more exposure to the joy of reading. Reading is a major concern for students with disabilities and setting up an inviting classroom library is the first step in establishing a strong reading program. It would be nice to take our library outside and read under the shade of our large oak tree.
