Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

This project will bring my creative students closer to my math orientated students.
It is my goal to give the students a challenge that they need to solve using recycled materials and creation of one 3-D printed part. Students will need to create solutions using sketches, and 3-D drawing on the computer. They will need to hone skills of science, math, art and technology, since their projects will need to be functional and aesthetically pleasing.
The challenges will be for students grade 2-8 and vary on complexity for the age groups. I want to do more then have students use computer to research, I want them to problem solve and be creative by thinking outside of the box of what they have and create what they need to solve the problem.
My Project
When I give the students the challenge of what problem they need to solve I will also list what materials I have available. One of the available materials will be the 3-D printer and the 3-D pen. Students will need to create a proposal of how to solve the problem, through sketches and words. Then students will be able to create a piece on the computers software and print using the printer, the exact piece they need or want for their design.
I want my students to start being more creative and designing the pieces they need rather then giving up on a design because they do not have the exact pieces they need.
My students are gifted and talented, especially in mathematics.
I want to challenge these students to think outside of the logical solutions that they know and force them to be creative and artistic. They can solve math equations, but I want to test them on real life equations where there is no right way to answer it.
