My 3-D Fashion Design students are incredibly creative and I am continually amazed with the ingenuity they demonstrate as they develop pieces for their 3D Art Portfolios. As a teacher in a school considered low-income/high poverty, my students face challenges in and out of the classroom. Each year it is my goal to help students make their portfolio vision a reality by providing them with the supplies they need to create a series of designs that allow them to truly express their incredible talent! With a limited budget, I do not want the challenge of poverty or district funding to deter my students from the opportunity to create a portfolio worthy of scoring

Each student has chosen a single idea in which they will develop a series of fashionable designs to demonstrate their perspective/vision of their intended focus. With your help each student will be able to put their unique spin on one of the following topics: domestic violence, pop culture, culture, movies with life significance, brand names, and classical horror movies (to name a few).
My Project
My Advance Placement 3D Studio Art Fashion Design students have selected a broad range of ideas for the concentration section of their portfolios. We typically use glue guns/glue sticks to put their designs together; with a class of 24, additional supplies are needed.
Whether it is an expression of pop culture, domestic violence, movies with life significance, or party supplies, students in my class with showcase their work using the supplies requested.
A simple butterfly mask will be used as a vehicle to showcase the pain a domestic violence victim feels on the inside, while the outside of the mask expresses none of the trauma they are feeling. Balloons can express joy and sadness as they inflate and deflate. Each item in our supply list just touches the surface of how my students will express their ideas through their fashionable designs.
