Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located just east of I-35 in Austin, Texas. Our school consists of over 600 students with a majority of our population being classified as economically disadvantaged and over 60% of our students being English Language Learners.

I enjoy working with my students because they persist and never give up.

My students are constantly working hard to improve their English and do well at school, while also sometimes dealing with a tough life at home. Despite challenges, they come to school and are eager to participate and learn.

My Project

I currently run a 3D printing club for middle schoolers on my campus. It is a choice to participate in this club and many students are interested in it because they are interested in entering a STEM career. Right now my students have access to one 3D printer to share. By adding another 3D printer to our setup, students will be able to take more accountability for printing their designs on their own.

Having another 3D printer would truly make the difference in my student's lives, as it will allow them to interact with the printer more and truly learn how it works.

This project would truly push forward my students interest in design and printing. There are so many things that can be done with a 3D printer and I can't wait to explore the possibilities with my students.
