My Students

I teach 9th-12th graders who have varying disabilities in a low-income school district. I love that many of my students want to become better readers through engaging and relevant topics of literature. They are special because they will spend 4 years with me working to become their best selves.

My Project

As a special education teacher, I engage in many one-on-one sessions with my students in order to provide an individualized approach to the curriculum being presented.

Virtual learning is hitting our classroom community hard & it is a struggle to reach all students when we’re lacking technology.

With a second screen, I would be able to project documents while still viewing and interacting with my students. By holding live sessions, I will be able to complete work with the students who are struggling.

Meeting with students now is a challenge because I’m unable to view my students alongside my documents. With a second screen, I will be able to interact more with the kids while working on whole-class instruction.
