I teach 2nd grade. I have 18 students in my classroom. We are a small primary school with 83% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
My students are eager to read chapter books.
We work so hard on learning to read and they are so proud. I would love to have some classroom sets of chapter books for my class. This will get them excited about learning and help so much with their vocabulary. They are so much fun to teach and I love to see them learning.
My Project
Now that we all know how to read, we really want to read chapter books. The chapter books will be used as a whole class reading. They can read, discuss, and take AR tests over these books. They are fun and age-appropriate. the I Survived series reaches boys and girls with historical fiction. Kenna Ford is a character many of the students can relate to personally. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a wonderful book that I grew up on and I know they will love it, too.
Please help us get classroom sets to enjoy chapter books as a class.
