I'm so excited about teaching 2nd grade in the 2019-20 school year.
We do a lot of teams so we can stay active while learning.
We are known as the Wildcats and our school is located in Boyd County of Ashland, Ky. Summit Elementary has about 500 kids.
In our teams each day, it's important that students meet goals in math and reading programs that our school has purchased. You may have heard of Math Reflex, which teaches facts in addition/subtraction and multiplication/division. The goal for each student is to reach 100% of goals. Students are from a rural area and many doesn't have computer access at home.
Unfortunately, we do not have enough technology to meet the needs of every student each day so we take turns on the older computers that have been donated to us a few years ago.
Our classroom is desperately in need of some Chromebooks. Even one Chromebook would help! My students and I would greatly appreciate any help in this area. Thank you so much for helping my students grow!
My Project
In our classroom of 2nd graders, we will use this Chromebook to help meet AR goals, Reading Goals, Researching, Math Goals, STAR assessments, and much more. Students do daily groups and it's difficult to set up without the appropriate material available to students. This chrome book will be available DAILY in groups so students can work in small groups to complete the daily activities.
Students will make progress in math and reading just by having one donated chrome book!
