Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This upcoming school year I will be a second-grade teacher in an MTSS friendly classroom. I will be teaching up to 30 students who will all bring something different to the classroom. My students are energetic, caring, challenging and hard-working. Our school is a low-income school that provides 100% of students with free breakfast and lunches. There are many needs to be met in the classroom and many times the materials are not in the building.
My students look forward to coming to school, they know they are guaranteed meals, education, and love.
They come to school eager to learn and this project will help my students gain the basic supplies needed for their school day.
My Project
All of the supplies that I have requested already have space in our classroom. Some items, such as the mailbox, will be used to help organize our classroom. The expo markers will be used for whole group lessons using dry erase boards. Glue sticks and construction paper will be used for hands-on projects to go with our learning.
These supplies will help my students to succeed in our 2nd-grade classroom.
The chart paper will be used to create classroom anchor charts to aid in our learning and which students are able to reference throughout the school year.
