My school is a title one school as well as a Leader in Me school.
We have many students that face trauma and hardships in their daily lives.
Many of our students have behavior problems and difficulties with learning. We are working very hard to build up their self-esteem as well as teach them the high academic skills that they need for their futures.
The best part of my job is seeing my students' thrill and excitement when they have mastered a concept, or have completed a task independently. I love working with children, and they all bring joy to my life.
I want to be able to help and support them in EVERY way possible. My students love to READ books, and love to color and do arts and crafts. Many of my students can't get enough math, and still others love to express themselves through their writing.
Thank you for the opportunity for me to share a little about my wonderful students with you!
Reading time is a favorite for most of my students. Although they love reading great books on their own, they also equally enjoy listening to all the great stories that I have bought over the years on CD. They especially enjoy the Disney CD stories that I buy. It is so motivating for them to hear a wonderful story that they know so well- and also hear the character's voices and the fun sound effects. They often argue over my one CD player, so having another one in the classroom will really help! Also, the cozy cushions for them to sit on will help create a nice reading corner, as well as keep them in their own special spot during the story. I am so excited to get the chance to offer my students a new listening center! Thank you so much in advance!
