Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Second graders are still excited about school and learning, and my goal is to fuel that momentum and make learning magical! I strive to provide engaging learning experiences for all my students so that they look forward to coming to my classroom each and every day.
Many students are from low-income families and have limited access to books in their homes.
Some of my little ones have their first literacy related experiences at school. My students need as much practice with reading as possible so that they can grow into lifelong readers and learners.
My Project
Rocking chairs are a necessity in a 2nd grade classroom - they provide comfort for students and teachers alike, allow students to feel special when presenting writing and other projects, and create a welcoming classroom environment. This is just one reason why students can say that "2nd Grade Is Rockin'!"
Read alouds bring reading to life, and create a bonding experience between teacher and students.
It is a time to to learn a new reading strategiy, but also a time to relax and enjoy a good book. Read alouds are enjoyed by all students, and help me create lifelong readers.
