My Students

Our class is full of excited learners. 2nd grade is a time when we are making sense of the world around us. We continue to practice our learning skills while also exploring our own independence.

Our classroom is diverse, and we learn from each other.

We are native English speakers, bilingual students, and some who are still learning. We have typical learners and students with special needs. We are a COMMUNITY.

In 2nd grade, we learn by experiencing and collaborating. We share ideas with peers and work together to solve problems. We are a COMMUNITY.

My Project

What child hasn't imagined themselves with some sort of super power? Reading the story Flat Stanley with your peers allows all students to access the story as they learn from each other. As they learn about Stanley's adventures, they begin to imagine having that superpower themselves! Where would THEY wish to go? How would THEY have solved the problems Stanley encountered? Using the Paper Doll Cartridge for our class Cricut would allow them to use their imagination and create their own flat adventure. They are now part of the story! Once they are part of that story, they have ownership and will continue the adventure with more books! That's the true superpower!
