Help me give my students supplies for making Christmas crafts. The items needed are glitter, small art canvases, yarn, craft sticks, poms, buttons, glue dots, wiggle eyes, puff paint and socks for a snowman craft.
My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous. My focus from the minute they walk in the door of my classroom is on their potential and growth while they are with me. I love that I can control their experience during the school day in a positive manner. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence. My students are an astounding group of children.
They come in every day excited to learn and to see what fun activities we are going to do together.
Many of my students come from very little and don’t always have what they need for that day. There are many students in our Title I school and getting supplies for each one of them can sometimes be a challenge.
We think it is so important for our students to not only learn but also have fun at school.
Christmas is a time where we can let their creativity shine through with all kinds of crafts.
This year we are making sock snowmen and yarn wreaths. We are asking for enough materials for all of our 2nd graders. Each student will need socks, yarn and lots of decorations. Some of the decorations include poms, glitter, wiggle eyes, and buttons.
These crafts can be taken home as gifts for parents of our students. Our school is located in a low income area and some of our kids never have the chance to give gifts to their parents. Hopefully these crafts will be cherished and used year after year in their homes at Christmas time.
