I am a lucky teacher of second grade students. My students aim to please and are always interested in learning something new.
I find that it is very important to keep my students engaged and excited about learning.
The best way to do this is by providing them with hands-on materials and resources that focus on current events. This allows my students the opportunity to learn more about what is taking place in the world around them. In addition, it makes learning a lot more fun!
My Project
I have selected twenty-five different titles from the Who Was series with the purpose of inspiring my second grade students. I would use these books while teaching biographies.
Students will be inspired by the individual and the impact they had on others.
For this activity, students will select a book to read on their own or with help from their family. After reading the book, students will create a written report about the inspiring individual. All family members will be invited to our living Wax Museum during the school day. Students will dress as the individual and come to life and share their written work with all of our guests. By listening to their peers, students will also learn more about all of the other individuals.
