My students are special because they are able to take their sometimes difficult circumstances as a way to grow and learn. They are diverse and our school celebrates these diversities by allowing the students to showcase and celebrate what makes them different and special.

Every day they come into the classroom and try and put their troubles behind them so that they can learn and grow. Coming to school every day is not always easy but our classroom is a family and we strive to make everyone feel welcome so that they want to come and learn!

My students love to explore and learn about the world around them!
We have 30 chrome cart computers that we have to share with 6 classrooms. We are mandated to take weekly reading and math tests on the computers and it is impossible to give the students the time they need when you have to share computers like this. Many school districts are moving towards 1-1 technology where students have the access to their own computer everyday. I am unable to provide that for my students but by getting 2 more laptops in our classroom, we can help close the technology gap.
My students deserve every opportunity to learn in the 21st century technological world just like any student in an affluent area.
Our lives revolve around learning how to work with computers. By fifth grade the MA state standards indicate that students should be competent in creating powerpoint presentations, typing documents, doing research, and much more. There is no way to be able to teach this if we do not have the necessary technology.
