In today's 21st century classrooms, scholars deserve nothing but the best in terms of technology tools available to them. However this isn't necessary the current state in our school's University of Oregon, where somewhat outdated resources are available to our eager, enthusiastic learners.
U of O scholars are incredible in every sense of the word.
They are 5th grade scholars leading the school and demonstrate Grit in all that they do. My scholars are a group of bright, passionate, hard-working scholars that put forth their best effort in all that they do, and thrive with the inclusion of technology in our classroom.
My Project
Student response clickers are on the cutting edge of technology in terms of providing the teacher (and scholars) with immediate feedback on their understanding of a concept or skill. We seek to acquire these tools so we can integrate into our daily ELA and Math lessons for quick checks for understanding and affirmation that our scholars are mastering the content. We are also seeking Jambox speakers in order to infuse the arts into our lessons through music. One example would be as we are counting down the time until scholars need to respond using their clicker, playing a quick snippet from our Musician of the Month would motivate scholars and keep them on track.
Providing U of O scholars with just a few simple but necessary technology tools will hugely improve our everyday experiences and desire to learn.
My scholars would be even more eager to engage with lessons presented to them with these valuable resources in our classroom.
