Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There are a total of 555 students and 29 teachers at my school, for a student to teacher ratio of 20 to 1. There are a total of 389 free lunch students and 0 reduced lunch students.

I serve low-income students in a high poverty community.

We have a lot of problems in our community, but that doesn't hinder the academic achievement. My students deserve the opportunity to achieve; with the proper instruction and support, we will succeed this year.

My Project

In my science class students use Chromebooks every day, and we incorporate a lot of videos and visuals into the lessons. With these headphones my students will better understand the different science concepts.

They also prepare special projects on google classroom platform, where they present different science concepts and generate a video that helps them explain the concept to them selves of other students that are struggling.

Also, there is a special PTA presentation once a year where students make a video presentation about a famous scientist. They have 6 weeks to prepare the presentation, one of the key components is creating a video with audio that depicts the most important facts about the scientist.
