Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I worked in a low income community in downtown Los Angeles, my students are the first generation of Guatemalan immigrants who speak Kiche and very limited Spanish and they don’t speak English. I have been working with this community 19 years and in this school 8 years. My students are eager to learn and strive. Unfortunately my school can’t provide all the supplies that my students need to learn and develop. I’m committed to help my students and parents. please help me provide a learning environment for my students.
My Project
These tablets mean a world of experiences in the lives of many children. My students don’t have any kind of technology in their house and the computers that we have at school don’t work. I’m the voice of many children who want to learn English and with these tablets the Literacy and Mathematics lesson will be fun and hands on. For my students to use a computer they have to go to a Library and be on a long waiting list. Having these tablets in the classroom will be a dream come true for my students and a tool for my to enhance their learning.
