Students in our school are from 26 different countries speaking 11 languages, all receiving free lunches. The school is a Preschool through 6th grade urban neighborhood school.
We are a classroom of twenty two diverse students ages three through five in who have a passion for knowledge and learning.
They enjoy interacting with each other, materials and content provided to them in a hands on environment. They are at various levels of learning and small group instruction is required to meet the needs of everyone.
My Project
Children in my classroom learn through purposeful play. Throughout our project construct, thematic based learning experiences, the students engage in a variety of activities to practice all skills needed for physical, cognitive and social development.
Introducing my students to coding using the Think & Learn Code-A-Pillar and the Code and Go Robot Mouse, I will be able to promote collaboration, critical thinking and communication among my students in an age and developmentally appropriate manner.
Due to the age differences among my students, these two resources will allow me to reach all of my students on the same topic at a differentiated level.
