Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are hard working kids who love to learn. Sure, we are nestled in the city of Richmond, VA, but you wouldn't guess it if you walked into my room! You'd find yourself transported to a conservatory full of diverse students composing, choreographing, writing, and growing.

The students inspire me to learn more because they are so inquisitive, and interested in digging a little deeper.

English may be a second language for many, but everyone is engaged in learning a third language-MUSIC! Our school is a small, tight-knit community of neighbors and learners.

We use an online music curriculum called QuaverEd that is full of fun interactive music activities. This iPad will give them access to composing tools, games, interactive quizzes and so much more. I also recently attended training for an awesome tool called Nearpod that I can't wait to use with my students on their iPad!
