Teaching students to like math is like getting kids to like broccoli! Despite the challenges, I absolutely love my job. I am constantly looking for ways to make learning math a more enjoyable experience for my students.
My school sits in the heart of an urban school district in Atlanta.
I have students with many backgrounds and challenges walk through my doors, gifted and students with learning disabilities alike.
My classroom houses students of all levels and walks of life. The one common thread my students share is they are all experiencing the ups and downs of adolescence.
My Project
My students to be able to dig deeper into their content, as well as connect with other students throughout the whole world. In addition, with more technology they will be able to refine their research skills.
Access to these Chromebooks will help meet the needs of diverse students and various needs.
Many students lack technology at home and this will help the students keep up with the constantly advancing technology world. Other students are ready for more challenging Science activities and technology will allow them to go beyond the textbook. Last, students will be able to follow current patterns daily occurring in Science.
Having Chromebooks in my classroom will allow us to have stations. Students will be able to research other topics as we incorporate hands-on simulations. For example, students will be researching microorganisms and presenting their research using Google apps- slides. Students will also be investigating human impact on the environment and specifically ways humans influence erosion. This information will be researched on the internet and presented using Google apps.
Have a station of 5 Chromebooks will be instrumental in managing a station for research.
