Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Each morning I greet each of my students with a smile and a handshake and ask them to look at me and tell me how their evening was. This is very hard for many of them since social skills are challenging.

Each day is a struggle for my students, yet we do not give up.

They work hard and try to learn, to be successful in whatever they do.

Our school has a great emphasis on becoming college-ready, and each day we look at our class chart to review what each student plans to do when they grow up, and how they will achieve their goal.

All my students get free breakfast and lunch. This is a Title I school, and the surrounding neighborhood is a very low-income area.

My Project

Technology speaks for itself. Using these Kids' Fire tablets will provide each student with multiple opportunities to grow in every academic area while learning important 21st-century skills. They will practice how to search for information, design presentations, strengthen academic knowledge in the STEM areas, and in other basic computing skills.

Most importantly, these tablets will give my students the ability to communicate their thoughts and ideas.

As their teacher, I will be able to give each student differentiated assignments based on their individual level and need. Anything from reading to math to graphic design is possible with a swipe of a finger...no pencils required.
