21st Century Learning in Kindergarten

My students need Bee Robots to learn the basics of programming. Their minds are flexible and open to learning new languages, including learning to code. Lets work together to make them 21st Century learners!

My Students

What a blessing it is to work with this group of creative and energetic kinder students. Every morning they show up ready to learn. They love sharing their experiences with others!

Our elementary is a school where 92.9% of the students receive free or reduced price lunch.

Outside of school my school also face many challenges: food, shelter, clothing as well as school supplies. We work to creative an exciting, positive, and engaging learning environment for everyone.

My students love hands-on learning opportunities. Being active and learning through play is what they love the most. They need more opportunities to be hands-on to help them be better engaged and motivated to learn.

My Project

To be a 21st Century learners, kindergarteners need more skills than just learning the alphabet and numbers. Coding has become as essential as reading and math.

I work to provide my students with many opportunities to develop their skills and apply them in real settings.

My students will learn how to program a Bee Bot (simple computer). They will need to write the code for their Bee Bot and reflect on their success or failure. They will use that data to improve their coding and Bee Bot skills. This will teach them how to think and how to plan. I want my students become critical thinkers and problem solvers while having fun learning.
