My Students

We are an awesome school with a historical background, our school is one of the very first schools in the Reno area. The community is very supportive of the staff. Every parent, teacher and student works vigorously to be successful. I have a classroom full of voracious learners. They are eager to learn what is next on their daily agenda. I have 18 amazing boys and 14 terrific girls. They make me laugh everyday I step into the classroom. Our class needs some help with keeping up with the technology piece of 21st century learners.

My Project

My class is filled with amazing learners. When we get a hold of a device it fills their heart. We are working on trying to get some iPads to house in the classroom. We currently have a cart that we share with 9 classrooms. The amount of time available limits us to about 20 minutes a day. In those 20 minutes we are able to explore wonderful apps including an application that allows one of my non-English speaking students to access text-to-speech. Having this technology is not only exciting, the technology provides them access to future career possibilities. The engagement is unprecedented when they get on an iPad.
