Help me give my students the opportunity to experience 21st Century skills juxtaposing technology and visual arts, incorporating filmed lessons, different drawing techniques, and documenting the amazing artwork they create to share with our community.

Every child has the right to an imagination. My visual arts students are creative, thoughtful, and full of wonder! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think as individuals. As they enter the art room and participate in our warm up meditation ritual they are bravely ready to try new things and support each other in creative endeavors. Many of our students experience trauma, food, and shelter insecurities with a lack of resources to support their art making when they are out of the art room. They love creating and doing hands on projects. While they are with me, I am dedicated to providing them with the best supplies and projects such as clay sculptures, painting, and printmaking. They are powerful and use visual arts to tell their narrative in their own words.
My students deserve the opportunity to experience the latest advancements in arts education. Education is ever changing and the importance of communicating and documenting student art work is an important tool in showcasing their efforts and talents. With the requested technology, students will be able to view pre filmed lesson plans, use the Apple pen to draw/render, do a unit on stop motion, and have their work documented for a digital portfolio and showcase. Teaching in a Title I school means my teaching tools are a chalkboard and ancient document camera. Currently I bring in my personal technology tools that helps fill that void. It would be amazing to have designated tools that live in the art studio. Including technology will help our students be seen and heard.
