21st Century Learners
My students need 6 Amazon Kindle Fires in order to fully participate in their math and reading centers.
"Teach the students, not the standards" This is my goal every day. Room 8 is a personalized learning environment that allows students to effectively grow as learners.
My classroom is comprised of students who are in desperate need for technology.
They are bright learners who need to be actively engaged in this instantaneous world we live in. They thrive off using the one kindle our classroom currently shares, patiently waiting each day for their turn. Unfortunately with only 1 to share among 22 students, it takes quite a while for each student to get a turn.
The students will use the Kindles daily in math and reading rotations, as well as, workstations. Each of their activities are necessary in order to personalize the classroom setting for the different learning needs of each students. Kindles are a great way to reach each student individually, when I am working with separate groups.
The students can also use to Kindles in order to participate in research projects, bringing their writing into the 21st century.
The students in my room are currently at a disadvantage in comparison to students around the globe.
We currently only have laptops that seldom work. This project will have a huge impact on their learning by bringing it into the 21st century.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
